Dr. D.B Joshi, is an ambitious person with a sterling vision. He completed his MD IN Psychiatry from LTM Sion hospital (Mumbai) and came to Nanded city to serve the people. Mental illness being a stigma in the society is often neglected and people tend to differ from taking adequate treatment. In 1989, he started his private practice in a single chamber OPD, tirelessly striving to create mental awareness. He simultaneously worked in multiple locations and was able to increase his admissions. In 1996, he established Joshi hospital which is a 30 bedded psychiatric hospital with ECT, round the clock anaesthetist and emergency services in the heart of Nanded city.His sheer hard work, knowledge, communication skills, undying dedication and gratifying results earned him prosperity to become the leading psychiatrist at present. His wife, Dr.Ragini Joshi completed her DGO from SRTRMC Ambajogai and helped in expanding the hospital by adding the obstetrics and gynaecology unitwhile providing quality care service to patients. Along with plush rooms it has a well equipped labour room and an operation theatre. She is an expert in Colposcopy and also deals with infertility cases.
Now, the second generation has collaborated in this task more enthusiastically with newer ideas and fresher spirit. Dr.Pranad Joshi, has completed MD psychiatry from DMIMS, Nagpur with one year additional specialization in De-addiction and rehabilitation from KEM Mumbai. His up to date knowledge, excellent counselling skills and 3 years of experience in district hospital as the head of District Mental Health Program, Nanded has earned him early recognition and prosperity in a very short duration. His wife, Dr. Prerana Joshi is MS ophthalmologist (DMIMS, Nagpur) and has completed 3 years of additional surgical fellowship in comprehensive ophthalmology and oculoplasty from Sadguru Netra Chikitsalaya, Chitrakoot and will be further adding an additional ophthalmology unit to provide quality eye care to the community.
